Select Weis Markets stores will begin administering COVID-19 vaccines – WBNG-TV

(WBNG) — Weis Markets announced that some of its pharmacies will begin administering COVID-19 vaccines beginning Jan. 14.

The stores that will administer vaccines include its West Corners location on Day Hollow Road, its Binghamton location on Robinson Street and its Vestal location on Rano Boulevard.

Weis Markets’ pharmacy staff will prioritizing individuals 65 and older for vaccinations, based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control.

Weis says it will administer the Moderna vaccine.

“Over time, we hope to expand to other priority categories as vaccine becomes more available and in coordination with the State,” said Rick Seipp, Weis Markets’ Vice President of Pharmacy in a news release.

Seipp would also like to remind people getting the vaccine that they will need a second dosage after four weeks of receiving their first.

Masks are required when getting the vaccine.

The Elmira location on Main Street will also be administering vaccines.
