UPDATE: Monday, January 18, 2021 at 5:23 p.m.

The identities have been released by DPS of the two people involved in an ATV accident near Kamay Rd. on Saturday night.

According to Sgt. Dan Buesing, the driver has been identified as Steven Leroy Blunt, 43, from Caldwell, Idaho and the passenger has been identified as Rebecca Lyford, 39, of Wichita Falls.

Blunt was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lyford was taken to United Regional and her condition is unknown at this time.

UPDATE: Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 7:43 p.m.

One person is dead and another person was transported to United Regional after an ATV accident near Kamay Rd.

According to Texas State Trooper John Horton, two people on an ATV were going south on a bridge near Kamay Rd. at around 5:45 p.m. when the ATV lost control and veered off the bridge.

The passenger was transported to United Regional and is said to have no serious injuries.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Archer County officials are still investigating this scene.

ARCHER COUNTY (KFDX/KJTL) — We’re waiting to learn more about a reported accident involving an ATV on Kamay Rd. near Headquarters Rd. that happened at around 5:40 p.m.

Our crew on the scene said they were told that Archer County officials are investigating this incident.
