More than 145,000 second vaccine doses administered in Iowa

The Iowa Department of Public Health on Monday reported 204 new positive COVID-19 cases and 38 additional deaths.At 10 a.m., the health department reported 359,584 total positive cases, 309,567 total recoveries and 5,374 total deaths since the pandemic began. The health department reported 359,380 total cases and 5,336 total deaths 24 hours earlier.The health department reports 585,961 vaccine doses have been administered in Iowa. The state reports 146,050 individuals have received both vaccine doses. Find out how to get vaccinated in Iowa.Iowa reports a 14-day positivity rate of 4.3% and a 7-day rate of 4.1%. A total of 3,957,377 tests have been administered in the state.The health department reports 222 patients hospitalized with COVID-19. That’s down from 229 the previous day. There are 54 patients in ICU and 25 patients on ventilators.Twenty-one of Iowa’s long-term care facilities report COVID-19 outbreaks, unchanged from the previous day. The state reports 602 positive cases and 404 recoveries among residents and staff within those facilities.
