The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control reported Friday more than 1,000 new confirmed COVID-19 cases after the number was below that mark for the last four days.
The latest DHEC numbers show 1,079 new confirmed cases in the state, with 277 probable cases, 36 confirmed deaths and five probable deaths.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 448,275, probable cases to 74,983, confirmed deaths to 7,697, and probable deaths to 1,002.
South Carolina is seeing a 5.7% positivity rate, according to DHEC.
